How To Style Your Shelves
I always find spring is the perfect time for a great declutter, with the sunlight pouring through your space, it really gives you time to look at what needs work. Shelf styling is also a great way to create a focal point in your space, or swap around some items, that haven't felt the love in some time. We are here to provide you with some insider tips on how to get the best from your shelves this spring.
1. Start from scratch
Yes, you read correctly if it's a pre-existing shelf I highly recommend a clear out, so you can see what you're working with. You might be surprised with what you have. Donate some items to charity, move it to a different location in the house, make sure you have a good mix of items left over.

2. Choose your colour palette
Like with most things in designs, choosing the right colour palette is crucial. You only really need two colours which can be a base colour to bring everything together. An accent colour to highlight the space. Depending on the feel you're trying to go for it can be moody or light and airy.

3. Add Artwork
Here comes the fun part, you don't have to be an avid art collector to get this right. It can be from your travels or pictures of your loved ones, so long as there is symmetry in the placement, it should work well together. Have a play around until you feel its right.
4. Botanical Extra's
Plants are very on trend these days, and if you can't keep them alive yourself you have great companies like Patch to give you a hand. Add them as a breakout on your shelf is a great way to add a touch of greenery to your space.

5. Books Books Books
The final touches, the great thing about books is, you can add them horizontally or vertically, and if it has an exciting spine even better. The more the merrier when it comes to books. Definitely play around with them, until you have the right composition, that matches everything else on the shelf.
